US Confirms Willingness to Assist in Ending the War in Ukraine
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated after a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that Washington remains ready to participate in seeking a peaceful resolution.
The meeting took place on July 23 during the ASEAN summit in Manila. Rubio noted that Donald Trump is willing to facilitate negotiations if a real opportunity arises to reach an agreement acceptable to both Russia and Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported that Moscow remains open to a political and diplomatic resolution. However, no specific agreements on a ceasefire or a new meeting of the leaders have been announced by either side.
This news pertains to two markets: "Will there be a personal meeting between Zelensky and Putin before December 31, 2026?" and "Will Russia and Ukraine reach a ceasefire agreement before December 31, 2026?"
